Former DU Volleyball Player Signs Contract Overseas

Faimie Kingsley signed a professional contract in Poland with Pilskie Towarzystwo Pilki Siatkowej S.A.

DENVER – Former University of Denver volleyball standout, Faimie Kingsley signed a 10-month professional contract with the Polish Club, Pilskie Towarzystwo Pilki Siatkowej S.A., of Pila, Poland.

The Pilskie Towarzystwo Pilki Siatkowej S.A. is one of the top ranked teams in the Polish-Serbia A League. Since it was founded in 1993, they team has been crowned the Polish Champions and the Polish Cup Winners four times, as well as the Polish Vice-Champions three times. Most recently, the club was ranked No. 6 in the nation for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to play in Poland for the 2013-14 season,” Kingsley said. “The opportunity to play professionally has been something that I’ve wanted to do for a while and I’m excited to be able to have the chance to fulfill that dream. Being able to play overseas for such a prestigious club is just icing on the cake.”

Kingsley finished her career at Denver with 930 kills, a .329 attack percentage, 55 blocks solo, 437 block assists and a 1.32 blocks per set average. She ranks first in the DU all-time record books with a .329 attack percentage and second all-time in block assists (437) and total blocks (492). She was named First-Team All-Conference (Sun Belt and WAC) twice and earned four Conference Player of the Week honors during her career as a middle blocker.

The New York native will begin training at the end of July in Poland. Kingsley’s professional career will debut with her first match of the 2013-14 season on October 5th.
