Find the volleyball schedules for preseason tournament, regular season
matches, conference playoffs and post season game participation of
NCAA Division I teams by conference.
Each year, coaches prepare their volleyball schedules so their teams
report back to school for a two week training camp period.
This period starts the last week of July for some schools and the first week
of August for others and lasts until the end of the second week of August.
Training camp consists of two-a-day practices, early morning or early
afternoon weight training sessions, conditioning along with team
meetings to discuss offensive and defensive strategies along with team
During the two week training period student athletes take official team
pictures, get uniform and shoes, move into their dorm and get
acquainted with teammates they'll live and play with for the next four
At the end of preseason there's usually an alumni game or intrasquad
game which is the first match that officially present the team to fans,
family and the media who are invited to see the new squad.
After training camp, next on the team schedule is the preseason
For the next four to five week period depending on the conference,
teams zig-zag across the country to participate against each other in
non conference volleyball tournaments.
Tournament travel schedules each year are strategically prepared by
coaches so their teams play as many out-of-conference rivals
during the five week tournament season as possible.
This period is where teams travel to the home states of many of the
players they recruited so players have a chance to play in front of family
This is the first time during the season for teams to meet across the net
to test their skills and begin to put to use the offensive plays, the
calls and the defensive strategies they learned in the
intensive two week, two-a-day practice training camp period.
