Private Volleyball Training in Las Vegas for Talented Players Who Need More Than Team Reps

I'm here to help you reach your high school, club and college volleyball playing goals as your private volleyball coach.

If your athlete already knows the basics but isn’t getting enough correction, feedback, or skill breakdown in practice, you’re not imagining it.

A lot of hardworking players plateau not because they lack talent, but because no one is consistently teaching them what to change, how to change it, why it matters, and when to use it in a game.

WHO THIS IS FOR?

Is This The Right Fit For Your Athlete?

Not every player needs the same kind of coaching.

Some athletes are talented and motivated but aren’t getting enough technical feedback in practice. Others are experienced and capable, but they’re starting to feel frustrated, overlooked, or burned out.

I work best with athletes who are ready for focused coaching, detailed correction, and extra reps that actually lead to improvement.

This is a strong fit if your athlete is:

1. A talented younger player who needs more technical coaching

Your athlete may already have 2+ years of experience and knows the basic skills, but your athlete still needs someone to break things down more clearly.

Maybe your athlete is on a team where:

  • the drills keep moving, but no one explains what your athlete is doing wrong
  • your athlete gets very little 'real-time' correction
  • your athlete is expected to figure things out on their own with little to no coaching feedback
  • your athlete works hard but isn’t seeing the progress they should be seeing

If that sounds familiar, I can help your athlete build cleaner technique, stronger habits, and more confidence through active feedback and purposeful reps.

2. An experienced player who’s frustrated, overloaded, or losing confidence

Some athletes are doing all the extra work, carrying a lot of pressure, and still not getting the coaching they need.

Your athlete may be:

  • one of the hardest workers on her/his team
  • expected to perform without being taught how to improve
  • stuck in an environment with lots of drills but very little teaching
  • feeling discouraged, isolated, or close to losing her love for the game

If so, your athlete may not need more pressure. they may need better coaching, clearer feedback, and a training environment that helps their feel capable again.

WHAT MAKES MY COACHING DIFFERENT?

More Than Reps. Real Coaching.

A lot of team practices move fast. Players get a drill, a few touches, maybe one correction, and then they’re left to repeat the same mistake.

That’s not how I coach.

I believe athletes improve faster when they understand:

  • what needs to change
  • how to change it
  • when to use that skill in a real match
  • why that adjustment matters

What training with me looks like

I offer private and semi-private training.

Semi-private simply means small-group training, so your athlete gets lots of personal feedback, correction, and repetitions without being lost in a large session. Clear definitions like this matter on a homepage, because visitors shouldn’t have to decode your vocabulary to understand the offer

Because I keep sessions small, players get:

  • more individual attention
  • more technical correction
  • more purposeful reps
  • more confidence from actually understanding what they’re doing

Families usually come to me because they want more than encouragement alone. They want a coach who can see what’s missing, explain it clearly, and help their athlete improve with purpose.

Semi-Private Training

Best for players who want small-group training with lots of correction and reps.

A strong fit for athletes who:

  • already know the basic skills
  • want more feedback than they get in team practice
  • learn well in a focused, hardworking environment
  • want to improve technique, confidence, and consistency

Private Volleyball Coaching

Best for players who need more individual attention.

Private training can be especially helpful if your athlete:

  • needs position-specific correction
  • wants to fix a specific skill issue faster
  • is preparing for tryouts or a new season
  • does best with one-on-one coaching

Summer Clinics

Best for players who want high-rep skill work in a structured clinic setting.

Clinics are designed to help athletes improve areas like:

  • serving
  • passing
  • ball control
  • game understanding and decision-making

Important note

My training is designed for experienced players, generally athletes with 2+ years of playing experience who already know the basics and are ready for more detailed coaching.

RESULTS / TESTIMONIALS

Results Parents and Players Notice

When families reach out to me, they’re usually not looking for random extra reps.

They’re looking for coaching that helps their athlete:

  • understand why a skill keeps breaking down
  • get real-time correction instead of being left alone in drills
  • rebuild confidence after frustration, inconsistency, or poor coaching
  • make progress they can actually see

For players who need more technical feedback

> “You taught me more than any coach I’ve had ever did in half the time. I appreciate how you were uplifting and encouraging while still pushing me out of my comfort zone and past what I ever thought I was capable of.”

For players who need confidence, not just criticism

> “You really helped her confidence and skills. She scored six points on serves in the first game. Thank you so much for blessing us with your coaching.”

For families who want challenging, encouraging coaching

> “Great coaches don't just coach. They change you. You have been an inspiration to Syd — and our family — from the get-go.”

For athletes aiming for varsity, club impact, or college goals

> “It is because of your belief in her and the reps you gave her that she feels confident enough to do it… Taking her to you was the best decision we made for her volleyball career.”

What families often tell me is this:

Their athlete doesn’t just get more touches on the ball. She gets more clarity, more correction, and more belief in what she’s capable of.

Ready to see if this is
the right fit for your athlete?

If your athlete is hardworking, coachable, and ready for more detailed feedback, she does not need to stay stuck with guesswork, generic drills, or inconsistent correction.

And if you’ve been wondering whether they need extra training, you’re allowed to trust what you’re seeing.

Sometimes players don’t need more effort.

They need better feedback, clearer technique, and more purposeful reps.

Here’s who training with me is best for:

  • experienced players, typically ages 13 –18 and up
  • athletes with 2+ years of playing experience
  • players who know the basics but need more technical correction
  • families looking for focused coaching, not beginner instruction

This may not be the right fit if:

  • your athlete is brand new to volleyball
  • you’re looking for large-group, low-feedback sessions
  • your player is not ready for detailed correction and active coaching

Next step

Email info@improveyourvolley.com and tell me:

  • your athlete’s age
  • playing experience
  • position, if she has one
  • current goal or frustration

I’ll let you know whether a clinic, semi-private training, or private coaching makes the most sense.

Summer spots are limited, but I’d rather you find the right fit than rush into the wrong one.

Why Families Train With Me

Parents usually come to me when they already know their athlete is willing to work.

What they’re looking for is a coach who can

  • spot what’s missing,
  • explain it clearly, and
  • help their daughter or son improve with purpose — not just run drills and hope it clicks.

That’s the role I love most.

I’m April Chapple, a Las Vegas private volleyball coach, former USA National Team player, former professional athlete, and University of Tennessee Hall of Famer.

Over the years, I’ve worked with athletes who wanted to:

  • clean up their technique
  • earn more playing time
  • prepare for varsity, club, or college opportunities
  • rebuild confidence after frustrating coaching experiences

What families often tell me sets my coaching apart is that I don’t leave players alone with reps for long stretches.

I watch closely.

I give feedback often. I break skills down so athletes understand:

  • what needs to change
  • how to change it
  • when to use it in a match
  • and why that adjustment matters

I’ve coached in Las Vegas for more than 15 years and have helped many athletes grow into stronger, more confident players — including athletes who’ve gone on to play at the college level.

If your daughter or son is talented, hardworking, and needs more than generic team practice, I’d love to help them take the next step.
