And I know how to do it correctly.
I'm a seasoned coach with over 15 years of experience here in Las Vegas but I've coached all over the United States in clinics and camps on over 31 D-I campuses and universities as well as numerous clinics and my own summer camps, so I know firsthand how personalized, expert one-on-one instruction can transform a player's performance.
If you're a goal-oriented player aiming for college recruitment or looking to be a starter on your school varsity team my private volleyball coaching sessions are tailored to help you achieve your goals.
Let me show you how I've helped tons of players in Vegas and in surrounding areas for years with my style of one-on-one and small group training that in a short amount of time elevates your game skills so that you achieve "next level" confidence and playing abilities.
I'm so proud of Turi Trainor who I privately coached her last couple of years in high school. Such an amazing athlete and hard worker, Turi is now a sophomore at Washington and Lee University and has helped lead her team to a 13-0. This past summer of 2024 she joined my Breakfast Club for College Players group as well as completed some private sessions in order to prep for her college season.
Adams State Division 2 libero Sierra Leone has been one of my private volleyball coaching clients since she was in middle school, high school and now in college seen here with Turi and Kenny working on setting drills warmups during the 2023 Breakfast Club for College Players college prep sessions.
College volleyball demands a higher level of
Unlike high school or club team practices, my private volleyball coaching allows for extremely targeted improvement in areas specific to your needs and goals.
In private sessions my clients receive my undivided attention to the smaller details that make a huge difference, little things like
I know that paying attention to technical details like how you run on the court to get to a ball are just as important as what you do when you actually get to the ball.
I believe that learning how to cover large distances in short amounts of time in defense should be treated as a priority because it will help you get to balls quicker than other players on your team.
I don't just focus on just performing the skill itself because I know its just as important to know what to do and where body parts need to be, before, you perform the skill and after you perform the skill.
I am a college prep coach and my specialty is training not only the physical aspects of what happens in college but also prepare you for the increase in the mental stress that comes with "next level" competition.
I incorporate advanced tactics and techniques used in college volleyball, which is intended to give you a head start on the competition you'll face when you get on campus.
As they do in Italy, I train players based on ability and potential not by age so if there's a promising 13 year old with advanced capabilities and skills I will train them alongside a 16 or 17 year old so they feel and stay motivated.
What else sets me apart from other private volleyball coaches in Vegas?
I am very empathetic towards my clients because of my extensive career as an elite player and one of the top outside hitters in the world at one time.
I can "see" and "feel" what a player "sees" and feels" in moments of difficulty which makes it easy for me to empathize with a player's issues, problems and concerns.
That's a secret weapon I have and how I got the nickname "volleyball player whisperer.
During my Breakfast Club for College Players summer training for college players in Vegas home for the summer we work on partner jump float serving technique where two servers at a time in two different lines serve behind Zone 1 and Zone 5 to a designated spot on the opposing court.
Pairs work together to get the ball "in" and if one player in the serving pair misses their serve neither of the two score a point for their team.
So no point for the two people serving and no point for the team they represent so the pressure feels like its double the weight.
The more we do this drill the more the server feels the weight of making their serve in.
I also include the concepts of "rhythm" and "wide vision" in practices which most coaches don't know and I tend to choreograph practices like a dance so players understand the ebb and flow of a competitive match which is similar to the choreographed steps professional dances learn when performing a dance routine.
I've trained with 2024 Big West All Conference Preseason Coaches Team, Cal Poly starting outside hitter Tommi Stockham on how to hit harder volleyball attacks when she was a junior in high school at Bishop Gorman.
Every aspect of your game – from serving to defense – is analyzed and elevated through targeted private coaching.
Private coaching sessions include volleyball-specific in-drill conditioning and cardio building drills that prepare your body for the demands of college play.
My practices and drills are formulated as elite training drills meant to challenge each player's physical conditioning while motivating and inspiring them to push through natural emotional and mental barriers of resistance to working harder
Through one-on-one coaching, we develop the mental resilience you will need to thrive under the pressures of college volleyball.
Private coaching allows for in-depth discussion and practice of advanced volleyball strategies, with the goal of boosting your volleyball IQ which is super important for Vegas players who don't have the history of the culture of volleyball like California, Texas and Nebraska players have.
As part of my holistic approach to private coaching, I answer questions about how to balance academics and athletics effectively.
My private volleyball coaching includes both my client and I recording practice videos which are often used
Private coaching sessions dedicated to developing a variety of serves with the consistency and accuracy demanded at the college level.
My College Breakfast Club training group working on jump float serve skills specifically hand to ball and toss consistency.
If you are a player with problems with serving, your goal should be to become that player who can be counted upon to consistently score a series of points from the service line.
One-on-one attention to refine your passing techniques, ensuring you can handle tough serves and attacks in college play.
If you're a player with problems with passing, there are two skills you must conquer if you are going to even think about playing competitive "next level" volleyball, the first is serving, the second is passing. I'll make this easy, if you can't pass, you can't play.
