Pacing yourself instead of pushing yourself emotionally, psychologically and physically.. in practice or in game opportunities is not the way for goal oriented players ..to become mentally and emotionally tougher in hard moments that count.
Because those moments will just keep happening and they’ll get harder and harder unless you don’t face your fear .. and will yourself, push yourself to become just as focused on being tough and just as determined to punch back and become just as hard… especially in the moments.. that it really counts! .

Look in the mirror today and ask yourself based on accomplishments, stats, results accomplished as of today… Who am I as a player today? …. then ask ..Who do I need to become.. in order to accomplish the personal and team goals I’ve set for myself.

Focus on the problem not the distraction…

For volleyball players.. focus on the ball… not the stuff going on .. off the court.. that you can’t control.

Narrow your focus to the things you can control .. like the ball…and the effort you put in…💯to score that next ..ONE point…
Going from good to great means you don’t get distracted by things you can’t control…(the crowd, the hype about the upcoming match, what this game means if you do or don’t win, the trophy, what the opponent thinks of you, etc)

Many of these volleyball practice drills you can do at home by yourself or try at your next practice with your teammates.
If you're a B team or JV player trying to make varsity next year...your goal should be to complete 1000 reps a day of at least three of the basic skills on your own...volleyball passing, serving and setting should be at the top of the list.
