As the first-ever First Round draft pick in Major League Volleyball (humble brag, I know 💁‍♀️), I've got the inside scoop on what makes a draft pick sizzle.

And this year's pro volleyball team rosters are more stacked than a triple block at the net!

So, let's dive into the cream of the crop – as Brooke Nuneviller is one of my top 10 pro female volleyball players who I think will be impact players as professionals on the Pro Volleyball Federation circuit this season ready to set the pro volleyball world on fire! 🌟

Listen up people because I truly believe that Brooke Nuneviller is about to snatch your wigs and redefine what it means to be a volleyball queen this season!

This Oregon Duck hitter/libero turned pro outside hitter isn't just good; she's so versatile it's almost unfair to the rest of the volleyball world.

• Brooke became Oregon's first three-time All-American…and only the fourth Duck to earn first-team All-American status, joining an exclusive list of players before her which includes a friend of mine Sue Harbour named first team AA  in1984, Alaina Bergsma (2012) and Lauren Plum (2012)
• She was the first player in Pac-12 history with 1,500 career kills and 2,000 career digs

• Brooke finished her senior year as a three-time All American and four time All Pac-12 selection

Brooke's first year as a pro athlete was spent overseas as one of the American pro female volleyball players in the Turkish pro league on the Nilufer-Belediyespor 2022-2023 team wearing the number 25 jersey.

Athletes Unlimited - Brooke Nuneviller

• 10th in AU’s all-time single-match list
• earned 3,582 leaderboard points to earn third place in the final league standings
• the only player in the league to author multiple matches with 400 or more points and tallied 300 or more leaderboard points in a match five times
• Brooke placed second in the league with 2,002 stat points and joined Bethania De La Cruz, Jordan Larson, and Leah Edmond as the only players to register 2,000 stat points in a single campaign 
• tied with Willow Johnson for sixth place in the circuit with 240 MVP points and earned four Match MVP commendations
• won two of her three matches as a captain during Week Five and collected six double-double outcomes

• earned back-to-back MVP 1 selections to close the season and registered 17 kills with 16 digs in the season finale against Team Hentz
• earned her first career MVP 1 distinction in Week Two against Team Edmond and set an Athletes Unlimited Volleyball single-match record for the most kills without an attack error on October 15

Pro Volleyball Federation  - Omaha Supernovas

Brooke has only played one year in the United States as a pro player and has racked up the following stats while helping to lead the Omaha Supernovas to the 2023 PVF championship finals:

• 25   Matches played
• 92   Sets played
• 335 Points scored
• 12   Service aces
• 17   Points blocking

The former Oregon freshman libero and libero for the USA Women's Junior National team member helped Team USA finish in 8th place at the 2019 FIVB U20 World Championships. 

Brooke's not just a player; she's a whole volleyball mood. With her ability to attack, defend, and lead, she's the triple threat that'll have PVF teams drooling!

Still a newby, as far as her professional career is concerned I predict that her second year in the PVF will be better than the first after learning the tendencies of many of the top scorers especially the international players she competes against. 

I'd like to see more outside hitters redirect the ball while at the height of their spike jump which is what happens more often in international European and American matches.

I think American pro players are still quite easy to read by diggers because they still hit in the same direction they approach, but if anyone is able to "show line then hit cross court"  or "show cross and hit the line" more often, I think Brooke is capable of making that a regular form of attack that she can add to her "tool box" this season.

3. Winning Mentality: Championships and awards? They collect 'em like Pokemon cards.

4. Adaptability: New team, new country, new language? No problem for these volleyball chameleons!

5. Star Power: These athletes don't just play the game; they are the game.

Now, let's talk about that international experience, because it's the secret sauce! 🌍✨ Playing abroad isn't just about racking up frequent flyer miles (though that's a nice perk). It's about:

- Facing different styles of play: It's like being in a volleyball United Nations!

- Quick adaptation: New team every season? They adjust faster than you can say "jet lag."

- Volleyball IQ on Steroids: When you've played in Turkey, Italy, and Brazil, you're basically a volleyball genius.

- Mental Toughness: Homesickness? Language barriers? These queens eat challenges for breakfast!

Trust me, when you've served an ace in Istanbul or blocked a hit in Milan, you come back to the U.S. ready to take on the world – or at least the PVF!
