Here is a collection of volleyball skills drills that you can do in order to work on spiking and digging technique along with improving your ball control.
Digging Drills to do.....Line and cross court digging reps

.
Hitters in zone 4 and zone 2. Two diggers in zone 5 and zone 6. Two targets catching the balls while standing on the other side of the hitters ball court
.
First Zone 5 digger digs the line ball hit by hitter in Zone 4. (Brandon in turquoise shirt) They dig ball to target close to Coach Brandon basket.

.
At the same time hitter in zone 2 hits to digger in Zone 6 who digs the ball back to the target standing in zone 3/2.
Then digger in zone 5 does a quarter turn and faces hitter in Zone 2 who hits at them to dig the ball to their target standing in zone 3/2. .

.
At the same time digger in zone 6 does a quarter turn to their left and digs the ball cross court that was hit from the hitter in zone 4 (Coach Brandon)
Hitters don’t hit until they have the eye contact of the digger .
Diggers working on staying low even during their turn as they prep to dig the next ball
Diggers working on target practice
Diggers work on keeping hips below the level of the oncoming ball.
Do for time or do after setting a goal for perfect digs to the target

Day 2 of the Improve Your Volleyball Middle School Clinic!

One group shags balls positioning themselves around the court they keep balls from interrupting the drill. .
One group is target for diggers to dig to.
Establish a goal a number the digging group of 3 as to get that many balls to the target without making the target move...to finish the drill.
Or.... go for time...
Hitting coach should remember to hit from different zones in the front court so the diggers work on platform angles, reading and believing what they see.
Defensive digging drill with 3 groups of 3 players.
-One group digs
-One group shags balls positioning themselves around the court they keep balls from interrupting the drill.

Serving slang is not just about individual techniques; it also relates to overall game strategy. A coach might instruct a player to serve a "short serve" or a "deep serve" to target specific areas of the opponent's court or exploit weaknesses in their serve receive formation.
Ari, my private training client and I are working specifically on serving on jump float cross court serves ...short to Zone 2
There's so much we work on to get to this point where she can contact the ball with
- the same toss height and same toss location
- the same armswing speed
- the same timing for when her serving hand contacts the ball
- the middle of the hand contacting the middle of the ball every single time
- getting use to watching her serving hand contact the ball at the highest point of her jump ...before she starts to land
- and finally contacting the ball in the precise spot on the ball so it goes where the coach wants the player to put it so in this case ..a short serve in the farthest short right corner on the court also called Zone 2.
