USA Volleyball Setter Tokyo 2020 Olympic Hopeful

Famous volleyball player Lauren Carlini is one of three American setters trying to qualify to make the USA Volleyball Tokyo 2020 Olympic Team. 

Famous volleyball players Lauren Carlini: we are watching the meteoric rise of a volleyball star - from college to international engagements and conquering alot of things  in between!

Lauren Carlini, born in 1995, is one of the leading volleyball players of her generation.

Before relocating overseas, the 2012-2103 Gatorade National Volleyball Player of the Year, Lauren was a highly regarded recruit who played in the setter position, for the University of Wisconsin.

Lauren resides part-time in Italy, where she plays for Igor Gorgonzola Novara, one of Italy’s most famous teams. 

Novara is a globally recognized team, and the fact that they scouted Lauren among thousands of young promises is a powerful testament to her ability.

She currently plays as a setter for the aforementioned Italian team, filling in the role previously held by world class Dutch players Laura Dijksma, as well as Katarzyna Skorupa.

The young Carlini is already being regarded as one of the best players in her entire generation, and she is just at the start of a fantastic journey.

“Playing in Italy is a dream come true for me, and I feel lucky to be able to continue living this dream,” Carlini commented on her success.

The 23-year-old athlete is a true inspiration for young people, as she initially made headlines when she joined the national team.

Carlini performs with the Women’s Volleyball Team in the United States where she participated in this years and last year's FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League.

On the occasion of the Grand Champions Cup in Japan, Carlini managed to score a bronze medal, bringing home her first major trophy. 

In addition to other achievements, Carlini played at the Pan American Cups, for three consecutive years, in 2016, in 2017 and 2018.

On the last two, she won gold medals as well, and further raising the profile of her blossoming career.

Her playing style is particularly notable, due to the fact that she combines high-energy action, with thoughtful strategy, and the ability to adapt herself to the circumstances.

One of the main things that sets her apart is her impeccable setting technique. 

Ultimately, Lauren Carlini stands out as a perfect example of an athlete who has taken a prolific path through her life and career, and she still has a lot more to give.
